Why incorporate Middle Eastern Za’atar Sauce or Dip?

Za-atar spice is a mix of sesame seeds, sumac, thyme, oregano and sea salt. You can add chili flakes for heat.  Or you can buy the spice and use it for dry rub for meat, salads, tofu rub, sauce, dip, marinade, bread topping (think flatbread) and flavoring for veggies or dishes.

Za-atar spice is a mix of sesame seeds, sumac, thyme, oregano and sea salt. You can add chili flakes for heat.  Or you can buy the spice and use it for dry rub for meat, salads, tofu rub, sauce, dip, marinade, bread topping (think flatbread) and flavoring for veggies or dishes.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup plain yogurt or Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp za-atar spice mix
  • 2 pinches sea salt or himalayan salt

Instructions
 

  • Simply whisk plain yogurt, Za-atar spice and salt together.
  • Enjoy and use as a veggie dip, sauce for greek inspired tacos, burgers or with baked vegetables and potatoes.
