No-Bake Granola Bars – Learning to cook healthy – It’s a Process!

It’s a Process!   Learning how to change our habits, our cooking style, our way of thinking.

To help me along this journey, I am trying other holistic nutritionist recipes such as: Joyous Health, Joy McCarthy and My New Roots, Sarah Britton. As well, as healthy food bloggers like Minimalist Baker who I love their recipes and their mission and goal. “We share plant-based recipes requiring 10 ingredients or less, 1 bowl, or 30 minutes or less to prepare. All eaters are welcome.” quote by Minimalist Baker.  Do check out all these websites.

Today I tried “From My Bowl” by Caitlin Shoemaker, No-Bake Granola Bars linked here. And have adapted it below.

They are extremely simple and delicious. Since they are no-bake, they do fall apart a bit but the crumbles are delicious as well!  Below I start to add some of my creativity to the recipe, practice, practice, practice.

These were so easy to make – 1/2 cup of maple syrup and 1/2 cup of nut/ tahini (great source of Calcium)/ seed butter mixed together. I added 1 tbsp of tahini for calcium. Then add in 1/3 cup of sunflower, pumpkin seeds, dried fruit (cranberries or chopped up apricots or dates)  each, really three 1/3 cups of anything you have chopped nuts, shredded coconut. I love shredded coconut so I must have in my granola bar recipe! Also add 2 tbsp of cocoa nibs or chocolate chips, 1.5 cup oats and 1/4 cup of oat flour (you can make this in by blending oats if you don’t have it).   Add a pinch of salt and stir everything together.

Put parchment paper in 9″x9″ pan and press the mix into it and let it stand for at least half hour before cutting it.   I took the parchment paper out of the container to help the cutting process.

My Process is to get my brain into healthy recipes as you can see above thinking of how I can change, innovate existing recipes and give you options in your kitchen so you don’t have to have every item.   My goal is that I can create healthy food recipes for you in the future.

What kind of foods are you interested in seeing – snacks, breakfast, lunch or dinner ideas? Or yes to all? This will be a process for me over the next year as I continue to expand and create Lively Life!   Please follow me by signing up for newsletter on my website Lively Life, at this point the emails will infrequent as I start-up the business.  Also follow me on Instagram @livelylifeyou and Facebook.  My goal is in one year from now to do a video and blog once per week.  I would love your input as I create content – to understand what people want to read and learn about.  It is important that we all have fun on this life journey and learn how to live our healthiest, more fulfilling and lively life is a great goal.  I believe if you are healthy it allows you to achieve more, starting being more, think about life more and move the world.
