Easy Apple Pie with 3 pie crust options! This is one crust apple pie. You’ve got this! Choose your crust – Pecan or Homemade Gluten-free Pie Crust or Spelt Pie Crust (gluten) or buy your crust. You can also make the crust a day or more earlier (freeze upto a month).
Lately I have been in the pie making mood with Fall and all the great fruit and squash/ gourds! We went over to Big B’s Apple Delicious Orchards for music and apples! This place is so great – offering music and camping in the orchard, and many fun memories.
This is a healthy recipe – so you can use it for breakfast with yogurt or dessert pie.
APPLES – you can use Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Jonathan, Northern Spy, Gala, Jonagold, Cortland, Fuji, if you like tart try Granny!

Store pie after baked at room temperature with a towel for 3 days, depending on temperature of room. If warm, put it in the fridge with towel or saran wrap or other cover for up to 5 days.

Easy Apple Pie with three pie crust options
Ingredients
- 6-7 apples sliced thinnly
- 2 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp maple syruup
- 2 pinches salt
Instructions
- Pick your crust and make it first. Timing can range from 20 min to 1 hr 20 min with resting time for spelt crust.
- Spelt Crust – no prebake needed. Others – pre-bake for 5 min.
Apples
- Slice apples really thin using a mandolin, do as thin as your mandolin can. Slice 1-2mm thick. Doing them thinner cause there's no cover.
- In a medium bowl, mix apples with cinnamon, maple syrup and salt.
- Place in Pie crust and bake.
- Baking depends on your altitude. Bake 425oF (220oC) for 35-40 min. Check at 30 min.
