How to store

  1. Store in fridge 1-2 days before cooked – sooner the better.
  2. Best to thaw for 8-12 hours, for better flavor. But you can steam frozen crab legs
  3. Store for upto 3-4 days in the fridge, after cooked.

How to make Alaskan Crab Legs – Can Cooker style foolproof?

  1. Thaw first – to improve even cooking and therefore texture with improved flavor, and reduced cooking time (5-10 minutes instead of 15-20 minutes for frozen).
  2. To thaw – overnight in fridge or under cold running water in the sink.

Alaskan Crab Legs – Can Cooker style

Lively Life
Alaskan Crab legs flash frozen then thaw them in the fridge overnight. We used our Can Cooker cause the legs were so large. Or use a large pot.
Cook Time 15 minutes
Thaw 8 hours
Course Main Course
Cuisine American

Ingredients
  

  • 1 package of frozen crab legs or fresh
  • 1.5-2 cups water
  • sea salt or himalayan salt
  • melted butter
  • minced garlic optional in butter
  • lemon optional

Instructions
 

  • Put 1.5 to 2 cups of water in the Can Cooker.
  • Secure lid and place Can Cooker on medium heat source.
  • The water has started to boil when steam is released from the vent.
  • Carefully remove the lid – I like to set it on another large pot. Add the Crab Legs.
  • Close the lid and latch it. Continue to steam for 8-10 minutes.
  • Use long tongs to remove the crab legs.
  • Serve with melted butter and lemon wedges.

A Seafood Boil

  • You can add ingredients like cobs of Corn, and potatoes, stick of butter, some flavor like curry, optional shrimp or other seafood.
